Course Aim
The aim of this course is to equip candidates with the skills and understanding to operate the Forward Tipping Dumper in a safe and efficient manner.
This course is useful for anyone who uses or will be using a wheeled or tracked forward tipping dumper in the land-based industries or construction industries.
The course will identify the basic construction and components, and the purpose and use of all its controls and gauges.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course the successful candidate will be able to:
- Operate a Forward Tipping Dumper across a range of activities to a recognised standard.
- Identify Hazards- Understand the principles of Risk Assessments and know the relevance of Statutory regulations, ACOPS and guidance documents
- Understand the lay out and use of controls
- Carry out inspections and servicing
- Carry out simple manoeuvres, forward and reverse movements, turns emergency stops, positioning and corrections with and without ancillary equipment
- Identify and know the use and limitations of ancillary equipment
- Know Safety Practices and Safety Checks
- Be able to complete Records, Logs and Safety Check Sheets
Certification & Assessment
- Practical Test
- 30 Operator Knowledge Questions
- CSCS Prometric Health & Safety must have been completed within last two years
- This meets the Construction Plant training requirements for CPCS Red Card CPCS
