Course Aim

To provide delegates with Comprehensive First Aid training in compliance with the Health and Safety Executive’s requirements for adequate first aid provision in the workplace and the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course the successful candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

  • Resuscitation methods
  • Causes and treatment for unconsciousness
  • Control of bleeding
  • Methods of bandaging and applying dressings
  • Treatment for dislocations and fractures
  • Treatment of shock
  • Recognition of illness and conditions
  • Treatment for burns
  • Prevention and relief methods for asphyxia
  • First aid equipment requirements
  • Legal framework for first aid provision
  • Personal hygiene in first aid

Certification & Assessment

Assessment Through practical assessment by independent examiners Certification This course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety First Aid Regulations 1981First Aid at Work and is valid for three years.
