About our CMT Learndirect Training CoursesWe offer three types of learndirect course; Basic Skills in Numeracy and Literacy, NVQs in Customer Service, Health and Social care and ITQ and ClAiT. All these courses can lead to qualifications from nationally recognised bodies (City & Guilds and OCR). Skills for LifePoor basic skills in school-leavers are being blamed for Britain’s competitive weakness in the marketplace. Since 2001, however, the Skills for Life strategy has given over 3 million adults a qualification in numeracy or literacy – something we are committed to contributing towards. Numeracy and Literacy online revision courses are available for all abilities in a relaxed environment at our three (soon to be four!) training sites. A National Test in either area at Level 1 (equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grade D or an NVQ Level 1) or Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or an NVQ Level 2) is available for those wishing to add to their qualifications. The average time from first enrolment to passing a National Test is four days and there is no cost for these courses. NVQsThe government’s aim is to reduce the number of adults in the workforce without a full Level 2 qualification by 40% by the year 2010 – the NVQs we offer (ITQ, Customer Service and Health and Social Care) will contribute towards this, being full Level 2 qualifications themselves. For learners who are employed, or employers seeking to increase the qualifications in their workforce, NVQs are an ideal way to demonstrate capabilities in the workplace. There are no exams for these; a portfolio with various evidence is built up over a minimum of a 10-week period. On average there are 5 units to an NVQ, these Units are standard statements of competencies which can be demonstrated through Witness and Personal Statements, Observations and annotated work. A qualified assessor from CMT Services will visit the place of work (to ensure minimum disruption to the working week) between one and ten times, however candidates can continue to work on their portfolio outside of these times. CLAiTCLAiT 2006 is a package of up to three progressive computer qualifications (New CLAiT, CLAiT Plus and CLAit Advanced) for learners looking to develop, improve or advance their computer skills. The units in Spreadsheets, Word Processing, Databases, Presentations and E-mails can be taken in your preferred order. “The service given by the Instructor has been first class and continues to be so both technically and practically.” Kleeneze Ltd. |
