I thought it was a big surprise shock to the system coming to CMT Services.

I belived that you can’t teach old dogs new tricks but you shouldn’t believe evrything you hear.

The training was good & passing was like walking on the moon, it was great.

Jason arrived with very little confidence and gravitated to a corner where he remained very quietly doing his work. Gradually over the week he gained in confidence and joined in classroom banter, helping his neighbour check his work occasionally.

Jason had problems at school finally getting recognition and medication but too late for gaining any G.C.S.Es’ he went on to gain CLAiT and IBT 2, amongst a variety of jobs.

CMT Services provided him with an opportunity to do Learndirect courses and his FLT Licence. In his first week he gained a City and Guilds Numeracy level 1, he was so pleased with his result he asked to do literacy too. He returned the following week and achieved literacy level 2, it was so rewarding to see his ecstatic smile!

Jason’s deep concentration, hard work and persistence to improve, with enthusiasm to better his employment chances and achieve certification made his 2 weeks with us a memorable week for all involved.

Ricky started learning with us on 3rd October last year, first completing his week of learndirect Skills for Life course, after which he passed his Literacy Level 1. He then went on successfully pass both his Counterbalance and Reach Fork Lift Truck course, but wanted to improve his Literacy skills before returning to work.

We had Ricky back the following week when he successfully passed his Literacy Level 2 exam - Rocky was so impressed with his achievements that he asked if he was able to start doing Numeracy as well!

Of course we asked him to come back, but Ricky found this more of a struggle than his Literacy - Rick and Tony (his tutor) agreed that Ricky should come back on Mondays when he would be able to receive one-to-one support. We were all delighted when Ricky passed his Numeracy Level 1 and look forwards to seeing him back for his Numeracy Level 2.
